Is Game of Thrones any good?

the first four seasons are 10/10... then it gets worse and worse.. in the final season its so bad i cant even bring myself to rewatch the first seasons

from a story-telling perspective, it's brilliant.
from a casting perspective, it's amazing.
effects and music - also excellent.
It's only that final episode that rubbed many folks the wrong way.
All in all though, one of the best shows and definitely worth the watch.

Honestly I never got into it....I'm one of those people who gets annoyed every time a character gets killed off just as I start to get interested in their story... and it became apparent very early that I was going to spend the entire series annoyed! 😶

The early seasons are great, given you can handle high levels of violence, gore, and sexual violence. Try to skip the final season. In general, George R. R. Martin is great at creating characters and plot twists and especially at weaving in new storylines. But frankly he sucks at wrapping up storylines.

I read about five of the books. First three were great. After that it starts to wander, with too many storylines all interwoven so none of them advance very much over the course of 1000 pages. Having seen the end of the TV series, I have no interest in reading the final book or two - in the unlikely event they ever get finished.
