I Like Disney Movies

So, next year, Disney is going to be super busy and probably profitable.

Disney is going to release 23 movies next year. That's a new Disney movie every two weeks. That's pretty insane.

I am not against it but when I see the movies being released, it reminds me of how big Disney is. There are movies that will compete since not all Disney movies being released are hits but the size of them is crazy.

This is not counting all the original products and shows they will work on and release for Disney+, ESPN, HULU, ABC, Fox Movies and Television (Not Fox news and Sports they are separately owned), Lifetime, History, and National Geographic which are all Disney products.

I remember when Disney was still a respectible film company, not a corporatist monster that released shit every time we turned around.
SW-User
@NativeOregonian hahahaha Different times. I mean, they own a produce a lot of good material. I can't blame them for making money.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@SW-User In the beginning, Walt and Roy Disney was all about quality family entertainment, they would be taking baseball bats to those in charge today for what they turned it all into.
SW-User
@NativeOregonian Not sure. He was big on capitalism. He hated Unions and anything that resemble Communism hahaha I am sure anything capitalistic he would be proud of.

Plus, the big movie company back then was Universal Studios and they fired him and took his idea with the Lucky Rabbit cartoons. He would love to see his company out battle them.
Not fond of Disney's politics, or most of their movies. Too damn big, and they are too powerful.
SW-User
@Quizzical Spiderman ranked in a lot of money for them. Hahaha

A Dog's Way Home wasn't bad either.

@SW-User Well, Marvel linked movies aside.

But they've made some absolute stickers.

I would not be surprised if Disney bought them up too at some point.
SW-User
@Quizzical They tried and Sony denied them. To the point that they took Spiderman away and had Disney crying hahaha
Quizzical · 46-50, M
Prepare to see the older stuff vanish so we HAVE to watch the new and unimproved dross...
SW-User
@Quizzical hahahaha I doubt they will get rid of it. It's what's making most of their revenue.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@SW-User Well, I've heard on the grapevine that it's already started...
SW-User
@Quizzical How? Disney streaming service has all the old stuff. I was watching cartoons from the 1930s hahaha they were pretty neat.
SW-User
They are huge and put out hits. It's actually a good and a bad sign when your movies are competing against your other movies.
SW-User
@Quizzical In big cities, at least here, they are entering the market. Little by little.

Not sure where you are.

@SW-User England
SW-User
@Quizzical Well, yeah but like, city wise. I live near Chicago, so my theaters have a more diverse selection of movies.

If I traveled 2 hours south, it's not as diverse. Kind of what I was getting at.

Star Wars is going to bomb.
SW-User
@JackEdgar I think this will be the last movie and they will make it Disney+ shows
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@JackEdgar In a big way I think
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
They say they are making a raft of Marvel pictures next year but some of the characters they've chosen are pretty close to overkill.

I mean there's talk of another Spiderman when they've changed actor 3 times already.
SW-User
@Picklebobble2 Spiderman is Sony product. Nothing related to Disney.

They are starting the next phase. So they are rebooting the X-Men universe which will begin with X-MEN: New Mutants.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User Unless I'm mistaken Disney own the rights.
So unless they're franchising them one way or another it'll be a Disney pic.
SW-User
@Picklebobble2 Disney only owns rights if Spiderman is with the Avengers. Solo Spiderman films and universe like Venom are Sony products.
69TommyDe · 26-30, M
With these 23 new Disney movies that probably have some Marvel movies to it are al the others new movies or reboots of older ones?
69TommyDe · 26-30, M
@SW-User That sounds like the right month to showcase the rest of the movies for the year
SW-User
@69TommyDe I think Call Of The Wild would be one of their best movies. Too bad it's getting overshadowed by Onward and Mulan.
69TommyDe · 26-30, M
@SW-User Forgot that they are doing a live action reboot of Mulan
assuming people go and see the mass produced crap
SW-User
@MarmeeMarch Some movies are not bad. I'll see some of them hahaha
