@bijouxbroussard Yes I believe it did put them on the map
I'm going to make an effort to watch the movie now

I never hurry these things I only saw ''Titanic ' (DiCaprio) for the 1st time 3 yrs ago, friends & family had been reccommeding it forever 馃槀

And have to admit that when I did , it was worth it , I even got a bit emotional.
@ the end .

Hopefully Carwash will worth the 40 yr wait too 馃槈
@Kae20 I鈥檝e been watching remakes of some movies based on recommendations here. For example, one of my favorites is Flatliners (1990). I actually watched the 2017 remake, and really liked it ! The treatment was different, and I still love the original, but it was neat.

"Car Wash" is a vastly underrated film. The structure is like a Greek tragedy, where all of the action takes place in 24 hours. Within that structure is a dizzying cast of characters, all perfectly resolved with their independent and intersecting life dramas. Most of them experience an arc where their situations at the end of the film are very different than at the start. And it all takes place with Los Angeles as the backdrop, another important element as the story couldn't have taken place anywhere else.
I like the cinematic expression and song, I'm curious how you see it. I find it mostly sweet and soulful.
@thewindupbirdchronicles Perfect way of describing it. The movie was kind of a throwaway, but the soundtrack was amazing.
@bijouxbroussard I'll check out both the movie and soundtrack. I do enjoy movies who throwback to seeing stories unfold, even if a throwaway, as often they present a world differently than now.
