What was your favorite show during childhood?

Assuming you were privileged enough to have a TV at the time.
The Avengers
The Twilight Zone
The Wild, Wild West

We were among the first in our neighborhood to get a [c=BF0000]color[/c] set.
SW-User

SW-User
We just had the cbc with a lot of bbc content and a local, station. Could never watch alone because someone had to hold the antenna (rabbit ears) in the right spot to get a signal Haha 😂
Fun times …lol @bijouxbroussard

Sky King

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Prisoner

Hawaii Five-O (the original series, 1968-1980)
@Byron8by7 Oh, I loved the theme from The Man From Uncle, too. The arrangement by Lalo Schifrin (season 2) was my favorite version.

@monte3 My dad was an aircraft mechanic at the local airport, and he worked on several Cessna 310 airplanes very similar to the Cessna 310B "Songbird" on the show.
Byron8by7 · M
@bijouxbroussard I always got a kick out of the last credit:

"We wish to thank the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement without whose assistance this program would not be possible"

I had a few,but my very first, after we got TV in 1956,was "Superman" - I was old enough to work out that George Reeves wasn't really flying, but still pretty exciting for an 8 year-old!
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
Speed Racer
Lost In Space
Gilligans Island
The Munsters

Hated the Banana Splitz
DiliMarky · M
@DIABLISS says the one who thinks the series is better... ughh
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@DiliMarky You're talking about Speed Racer, right? 'Cause if you are, then I agree with you, the series was better than the film.
DiliMarky · M
@Sidewinder wrong

ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
As a youngster, probably Gilligan’s Island and/or the Monkees

Jump ahead a few years, and I’d say The Thornbirds (a miniseries which came out when I was about 12 or so…I watched it with my mom…it’s a favourite book of mine too) ❤️
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M

AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@CactusJackManson consequences schmonsequences as long as I’m rich. Lol
monte3 · 70-79, M
@CactusJackManson speaking of Roadrunner, God how I wanted oldWiley E to catch him and beat his head against a rock. 😊
I watch something called “ “Grizy the lemmings” written by some Canadians smoking something fun. It reminds me of Roadrunner except that the lemmings get creamed too.
@monte3 Wile E. was a smart dude-- and fast for a coyote. But he picked the wrong guy to chase and should not have been so loyal to the Acme company.
Dukes of Hazard, Knight Rider, and Miami Vice
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
@Jimthere4fun ah, the Dukes!!
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Police Academy...they always put it on during the summer holidays.
Our Gang/Lil Rascals
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@Grateful4you That wasn't a television program, it was a series of short films that were showcased in movie theatres back in the 1930's. Television wasn't introduced until the 1950's.
@Sidewinder Yes, I realize that, we still got to watch some of them on TV usually some kind of hosted kids program such as "Engineer Bill" Or "Sheriff John" can't remember the specific pr ograms. I still watch them on YouTube.
@Sidewinder it isn't his fault that tv wasn't around during his childhood
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
The Raccoons (Canadian cartoon from the 1980's)

@DunningKruger I saw one episide in 1966 and I thought it was incredibly stupid. Four years later I was in college and smoking pot and it was the best TV show I had ever seen!

Mighty Mouse
In the Chicago area we had great local children's programs. Bozo's Circus, Garfield Goose, and The Ray Rayner Show were all on WGN.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@BlueSkyKing I remember Bozo the Clown. He was on TV in Toledo Ohio area when I was really little.
@ViciDraco More than likely a different person portrayed him. The creator of the character had many local television markets to cover. When WGN became a super station, the original actor had retired and the format change from daily to once a week.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Not exactly a show, but Sunday mornings one of the NYC TV stations aired the ABBOTT AND COSTELLO movies and the JOHNNY WEISMULLER movies.
Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Avatar The Last Airbender, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Code Lyoko, Naruto, and Invader Zim were my all time favorites.
Straylight · 31-35, F
I remember being into Teen Titans.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Straylight haha, never look back!
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Straylight did you have a crush though? I had always fond of Raven back in the day.
Straylight · 31-35, F
@ViciDraco I liked Starfire. I guess it was the quirkiness
chrisCA · M
Privileged?
From what I remember, even the most modest households had a TV.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@chrisCA I had a couple years without. Once it had been fried in an electrical storm and we didn't have the spare money to get a new one. And this was in the 90s, so I can only imagine some had it worse.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Privileged houses had vcrs when I was a kid in the late 70’s.
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
Anyone remember the short-lived Wheeled Warriors? Or M.A.S.K.?
