Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)
@Sidewinder Sorry, I asked about classic (original) Twilight zone themes. I suppose I could’ve opened it up to the movie, the 1985, 2002, or 2019 reboots. I was curious about those first themes. No offense intended.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard No offense taken. But did you know that the theme to the 1985 reboot was composed by The Grateful Dead?
@Sidewinder No ! But it makes a lot of sense, actually.

The one I remember hearing is the second one, but I love the orchestrations in the first; it sounds like there's a harp in there. Very cool.
Peaches · F
I like the second one. 😎 It would also be great for SW when you log on!👀🤣
Peaches · F
@Rutterman If they had a sense of humor!😜It might give the place a needed boost!😆
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Peaches Yes. They'd find people here would love it. I'm sure of this. 😄

Bartleby · 51-55, M
Definitely the later theme.
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
Here are more I also liked season 4-5 intro 1963-1964

@Jeffrey53 Very cool. No one introduced it like Rod Serling himself did (imo).
tindrummer · M
I don't remember the 1st - it's great.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
The later theme, but even the first one is significantly better than most TV series intros today.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
The first one.
@Burnley123 Me, too. 😄

@bijouxbroussard Some things age, others are timeless.

Season 2 intro 👍
Piper · 61-69, F
I like the first one just a little bit more, but it's almost 'a tie'.
@Piper I liked the first one because it was eerie and scared me as a kid. The second theme, less so. 😄
Piper · 61-69, F
@bijouxbroussard I think the first one is eerier, too, but I like the theme song in the second one. :)
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
I like to skip intros, but with DVDs, I can't. The second although I just bought the entire first series.
Dino11 · M
Door number two, like that spinning in or out.
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
I like the first one second one it’s like they want to hypnotize you
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
I guess the second one is pretty much stuck in my memory.
MethDozer · M
The surreal original always creeped me out more but the later theme is much more iconic and film nior(ish).
sciguy18 · M
I’m much more familiar with the latter, but prefer the former.
@sciguy18 I preferred the former, too, because it was more eerie.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I didn’t know there were two different kinds. I just watched whichever came on tv
@Pinkstarburst Me, too

Serling was a gifted man who in addition to writing producing The Twilight zone (on a ridiculously low budget) wrote many screenplays for Hollywood,Seven Days in May, Requiem for a Heavyweight, and The Doomsday Flight etc..I guess I prefer the second selection but ,my, the good die young

seemingly one of a dying breed of men with integrity in that industry
craig7 · 70-79, M
The second,1962 version is the one I recall more clearly than the original - and watching and listening again now to both,I prefer the '62 intro.
The second, I think.
SledgeHammer · 46-50, M
This is so weird.. I was just looking at the intros yesterday...

The older ones are cool
REMsleep · 41-45, F
I like them both so much. The first intro makes me feel like I am getting ready to be transported to a creepy place through a strange bedtime story.

The second's music is pretty dated from the 60s but is perfect anyway. Instantly I have goosebumps.
Iwillwait · M
For me, it was always the second one.
I am torn, honestly. I prefer the later introduction, for the most part, but I much prefer the title font from season 1.
I prefer the one from 1962, but it's the one I know and remember.
Montanaman · M
Later theme. 👍

And then there was Night Gallery.
