It is one of my all time favorite movies. I think "Manhunter," written and directed by Michael Mann, is the best - by far - of all of the Hannibal Lector films.
"My dear Dr. Lecktor, I wanted to tell you how delighted I am that you have taken an interest in me. You alone know what it is I am becoming ... "
Two of Michael Mann's other films I highly recommend are "Thief" (1981), and "Heat: A Los Angeles Crime Saga" (1995).
