Am I supposed to be impressed Jeff bezos went to ‘space’?

We already put people in space 6 decades ago lmao! This isn’t impressive. It’s actually kind of lame. No clue why it was plastered all over the news.
SW-User Best Comment
Yes it's all about impressing you
NoahB · 26-30, M
@SW-User yes that is correct

Supposedly he didn't even go to space. He went to the edge and peeked in. He's not a space voyager, he's a space voyeur.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
His rocket looks like a giant vibrator
NoahB · 26-30, M
@FreeSpirit1 it really did
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@FreeSpirit1 he looks like a giant vibrator too.
@FreeSpirit1 Branson's craft was so much better. It looked like something out of Star Wars.
SW-User
64 miles up is like kissing space, not really going to space imo.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@SW-User 💯 wouldn’t even qualify this as actually going to space but the news is acting like he landed on mars
SW-User
@NoahB It's like swimming across the Rio Grande and back and saying you went to Mexico.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@SW-User lol exactly. It’s maybe even a little lamer than that. Big news story about the second guy who swam across the rio grande and saying he went to Mexico
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Because it’s was for the joy of it, not for scientific exploration. He’s not a scientist just a rich mofo with nothing better to do (with money or time).
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@NoahB Scientists have been to space. The common person has not and I’m not sure where you been, but space is kind of a big deal no matter who it is anyway. If you cannot appreciate the wonder of space that then it’s no wonder you don’t find this appreciable either.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@DoubleRings jeff bezos is a common person?? lol and yeah i appreciate space just fine. and i don't think a billionaire buying a ticket for a 'extra big airplane ride' qualifies
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@NoahB well you’re entitled to that perspective.
HannahSky · F
It was his 🚀 shaped like a dick
Are you impressed now?
NoahB · 26-30, M
@HannahSky getting there lol
I need to know every detail of famous people as they banned me from going through their trash cans.
SW-User
He's just showing off that he can as he's a squiltymillionaire
NoahB · 26-30, M
@SW-User oh oh brother. I miss when rich people only tried to impress eachother
Bados · 100+, M
He didnt even go to space. He just shot the rocket 100km into air and let if feel. The fucking nazis could do that in the 1940s using slave labour.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Bados dude it’s embarrassing how much the news is hyping this up. The commies actually put someone in space decades ago and shortly after that the us landed on the moon. Such an obvious kiss ass story from the media to bezos
Bados · 100+, M
@NoahB The commies, the fascist, the capitalists, the what ever the chinese are. Everyone has put a person in orbit.
He had to do something while waiting for his half-billion dollar yacht to get finished.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
you're the one talking about it.....
NoahB · 26-30, M
@DeluxedEdition I talk about a lot of stuff I don’t like. It’s called complaining
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@NoahB I’m just messing w you 😉
adorbz · 26-30, F
First person ever to go into space for no reason? 👀
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Can't we fire him into space and, I dunno, leave him there?
NoahB · 26-30, M
@basilfawlty89 thatd be great
@basilfawlty89 There was a petition on Change.org trying to get them not to let him back in to Earth. Got something like 200,000 signatures.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
You would have been an unimpressed critic of Edison, the Wright Brothers, and Henry Ford if you had the chance, I imagine. You probably think building Amazon from an idea was no big deal either.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@basilfawlty89 The easiest... and laziest... thing in the world to do is critisize what others do. Again, Edison, the Wright Brothers, Ford, etc. had critics too when they accomplished a great thing on a small scale BEFORE it became a civilization-changing thing.

Try accomplishing something with your life instead of demonstrating the historical presence of critics in the modern age.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MarkPaul that's cute. What life changing thing are you doing?

And pray tell, does inventing something give you the right to exploit others suddenly?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@basilfawlty89 I've got ideas. Don't worry about that. And, he's hardly exploiting anyone. Last time I checked, these people are gainfully employed, and have an opportunity to create things on their own or move up in the Amazon organization. Those are pretty good choices.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Like everything in the corporate news media, it sells advertising and that's all that matters.
I guess Musk is going to have to travel to Yuggoth to outshine the other billionaires.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
It's conspicuous consumption during an emergency. It's anti social.
no ur supposed to be impressed that he's a bajillionaire
NoahB · 26-30, M
]@faithfulhusband that’s more annoying to me than impressive
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
I guess he's feeling insecure cuz Richard Branson beat him to it?
NoahB · 26-30, M
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
What would have been really impressive is if they left him there.
SW-User
How many people get to ride in a space penis though?
NoahB · 26-30, M
@SW-User fair
Budwick · 70-79, M
This isn’t impressive. It’s actually kind of lame. No clue why it was plastered all over the news.
What has been your contribution to society?
What's been your achievement?

That a private individual has done this I think is significant.
I'm no fan of Bezos, but what he did is pretty cool.
NoahB · 26-30, M
@Budwick lol mwah mwah mwah 💋 🍑
4 minutes doesn't impress me much.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
He put himself there. Guys a dickhead but he will go down in history.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt okay, you work in an Amazon warehouse and see how your quality of life is.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@basilfawlty89 not one person is FORCED into working for him. He didn’t make his money being a philanthropist. His ex wife will do that for him.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt actually, with the labour laws in the US, you are actually forced. It's a choice between homelessness and starvation or working like a slave. If you were dying for thirst and I offered you a water bottle for $1mil you'd buy it. Is it fair? No. Is it exploitative? Yes.

Consent under duress isn't consent.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Did you see his thank you.

Included in the many people that Bezos thanked Tuesday was "every Amazon employee, and every Amazon customer. Because you guys paid for all this." Bezos has said he finances the rocket company by selling $1 billion in Amazon stock each year.

We sent him to space lol
@iamonfire696 Meanwhile there are stories of Amazon firing more people than they hire.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Pitchblue not surprised
empanadas · 31-35, M
his last name creeps me out. it's likw he is saying " im in space, bezos my ass."
