What is the most precious thing ever stolen from you? Was it ever recovered or returned to you?

The last nine years of my life, my heart, my trust, my happiness and joy. They were stolen and destroyed - it is impossible I will ever get them back.

A gold watch bought in Switzerland after WWII by the man I was named for. He died and his mother gave me the watch. It was stolen by men who moved us into our present house.

my daughter and her children..and no, i didn't get them back. My daughter passed away in 2007 and we lost all visitation to her girls. never could reestablish a relationship with them afterwards
BalmyNitesF
[@18045,akindheart] It was the partner who prevented you seeing grandchildren? That鈥檚 just wicked - absolutely evil. Are the children now adults? Can you write to them & explain how their Mum wanted you close & how hard you tried to remain in their lives? When you say 鈥渕oved on鈥, do you mean mentally or that they鈥檝e moved away? I wouldn鈥檛 give up babe, I would fight tooth & nail if that were me, you never know things may change.

My niece stole my heart the moment I heard her heartbeat. I decided she could have it the first time I held her in my arms.

[@6912,Pinkstarburst] That is the loveliest theft I know of. 鉂

I dunno, it's all lumped together: trust, sanctuary, love, belongings, safety, hope, all my boudries, privacy, faith, peace, dreams, health and half a life's effort and work, and most of what I owned or loved.馃し鈥嶁檧锔

People can only take what you have... Regardless of what that is. But they cannot take who you are.
TrippinF
[@9537,LadyBronte] Stolen from you places you in the seat of a victim of the past. Aspects of you; you simply lost and accept puts you in the present. Impossible need not exist...right now.

My marriage
Lacemaker41-45, F
[@9537,LadyBronte] Thank you. It was just over ten years ago.

I don't really know what to say. Sorry seems futile, but I feel desperately sad for you. I think men are better at compartmentalising things, such as feelings, which can be a good or bad thing but some don't think twice about sweeping you aside, leaving you feeling trampled upon 馃
LadyBronte56-60, F
[@398195,Lacemaker] Sadly,I believe you are right. I do hope you've found peace in this past 10 years.

Other than them, I'm in turmoil that comes and goes....I'll PM you if that's ok
FreerangerM
The idea that, some mofo broke in to my security space, stole what they wanted, and smashed what they didn't. Total chaos all over the floor when I came in.
Glad I never caught them in the act. I'd still be in prison.
LadyBronte56-60, F
[@841884,Freeranger] That's really awful. I'm so sorry.
[c=004A59]I let something into my life that wasn't a good idea, and by doing so, allowed someone to steal both my dreams and my creativity (which were 2 different things).[/c]
LadyBronte56-60, F
[@1217106,Vampyr] I'm sorry that happened. Letting people into your life can leave lasting scars.
[@9537,LadyBronte] [c=004A59]I'm not sure about the scarring...but these things I lost are gone forever. I haven't been able to get them back no matter how I've tried.[/c]
