In the U.K., Rape falls within the remit of dangerous offenders, hence on conviction would carry a max. possible sentence of 5 years - life imprisonment

@KA9ha Recidivism is common for rape offences, hence the original imposed sentence should be higher - 5 years is simply a starting point of sentencing available to the judge
