I never realised just how politically charged Americans were until I joined SW.

Theyitis · 36-40, M
Where are you?
ScarletWitch · 26-30, F
It really depends. I feel like Illinois is the only normal state. At least my area. Most of this bullshit is in California or Florida... which im not sure what the people are drinking down there but they are crazy.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@DukeOfEarle SF has some of the cleanest and best-rated water in the country, this is one of the funnier things about this strange rightoid larp.
Ignore the photos and all the other proof and continue to pontificate like a blowhard will

@DukeOfEarle It might amaze you, but the water in the tap doesn’t come from the sidewalk.

We drink John Muir’s own tears here, so clean, the EPA doesn’t even require filtration.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Let’s not pretend this place is normal 😂
The US has a division between urban and rural ... rural is all red ... urban is all blue ... with very few mixed areas.

Historically the urban politics over whelmed rural ... for the last 26 years, the rural areas have grown while urban stagnated

In 2016, rural became strong enough politically to win... and they won BIG ... 2,800 out of 3,150 counties

Thus, they are energized and the urban dwellers bewildered ... creating the political dynamic on SW.

Much of it is nonsense.
People believe all kinds of rubbish and hold it as a 'value' despite the fact it has no basis in either fact nor truth.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Trump has divided the nation like we rarely have seen here.
SarahPP · 26-30, F
@DearAmbellina2113 No, I think this goes back much further
@DearAmbellina2113 You’re right, unfortunately. I’ve voted in every presidential election since 1980. I’ve never seen things quite like this. And I’ve honestly never seen a president so eager to keep people at each others’ throats. Who holds rallies demonizing half of the population when you’re supposed to be president of everyone ?
TexChik · F
Liberalism and the push back against it ... that seems to be the way it is now
BlueVeins · 22-25
Sorry there!
4meAndyou · F
It never used to be like this. It started in 2016 when the enormous Democrat Power party machine crashed unexpectedly. They pulled out all the stops to try to regain power. That includes trolling the internet to create divisiveness.
akindheart · 61-69, F
i was always a republican but never got involved until Obama and what i saw happening.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@akindheart Liberal pedo Soros cabal has a better ring to it 🤷‍♂️
akindheart · 61-69, F
@QuixoticSoul the swamp. easier and more exact. it covers everything
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@akindheart But it doesn’t quite bring across the sheer threat of a liberal pedo Soros cabal.

Face it, that is (((Soros))) terminology you’re supporting, better start calling it what it is 🤷‍♂️
Dadbod52 · 56-60, M
I’m a confirmed centrist. Both sides have valid ideas. Far right or far left are just too extreme.

But it's all Russia's fault...still, apparently. 😏
Having once again proven you to be a stupid blowhard, done. @QuixoticSoul
daisymay · 51-55, T
@Keeper
Nancy said that Mitch was "under Russian control" yesterday.
Assuming what you said is true (dangerous, I know), show us the lie.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@DukeOfEarle Oh I doubt you’re done bitching 😂
MildlyInappropriate · 51-55, M
It gets even more charged in this country when you realize how much foreign trolling Americans willingly share on social media. Confirmation bias is a real bitch when it comes to being informationally literate; it's so much easier to just share that meme even if you know it probably isn't true.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
It's mostly people blowing off steam online. Most people go about their business and don't get all political in real life. If you just went by what people say online, you would think we were in the midst of the next Civil War.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
It is a particularly fraught time politically for the US. Like there's always been divides but the past five or so years have been getting worse and worse.
SW-User
Kinda depressing, isn’t it?
PitbullBiker · 51-55, M
@SarahPP unfortunately diversity breeds divisiveness
daisymay · 51-55, T
@PitbullBiker No, that would be ignorance.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SarahPP Great observation. Quite true.
SW-User
Some of us don’t get caught up in the drama of it
TrunkZ · 56-60, M
I guess certain people, subjects and events whip us up into a frenzy from time to time.
SW-User
We live a divisive time in history.
There once was a middle ground.
