Let me get this straight Narcissists actually believe in their mind that everyone should think they are amazing?

What an odd existence. I'd like that but I'm aware it's a fantasy. I do get a bit resentful when I'm forgotten about or ignored. I'm an avid fan of adulation which unfortunately became known and made me less popular.

I think it’s more correct to say that narcissists know everyone thinks they’re great, which is why they can’t understand when the evidence shows they aren’t that great. Look at Trump. When he lost the election he was convinced that it must be a conspiracy- because he’s the greatest living person.
