I think it can depend where you are even in the same city. Right now I live in one of the "good" neighbourhoods in my city. Everyone has tall fences up between the neighbours and have no clue who lives next door.
Before that I lived in what most people would call the inner city "ghetto." But I knew my neighbours, we all looked out for each other. a guy from the neighbourhood shovelled snow for us in the winter and cut our grass in the summer and spirng.
We would go on neighbourhood patrols, band together when someone in the community went missing. It felt a bit like a small town inside a major city.

@Ashly Yeah. I can relate to that. Sometimes when we get stuck inside our own heads it is easy to feel alone.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow it happens sometimes, we’re all dealing with our struggles. Some just have tougher battles

@Ashly No argument there. Had the last 15 years of my life implode in 18 months.

You should try moving to one of those towns where people know even how many times in a year you've skipped church 😬
Jk ofc
Jk ofc

@Ashly Oh yeah, I think pretty much everyone is welcome here, the only problem is the job market and relatively low wages (compared to France, Germany, etc.). They're a bit higher than Spain but so is the cost of life so I guess the experience is similar. But aside from that it's a pretty nice place to live in 😌
It also helps with the language if you can speak any Spanish as they're quite similar. I went to Spain and had conversations just by speaking some 10% broken Spanish and 90% Venetian dialect and we understood each other perfectly 😆

@Ferric67 I get what you mean, life can’t be predicted, it has to be lived day by day
For example, this past Thursday I was surrounded by dozens of family members, and I tried my best to enjoy that night but I couldn’t 😔 I didn’t make a scene because why should I ruin everyone’s night 😕

It's about connections not about how many people
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
Isn’t that fact crazy, the worlds population keeps growing yet most of feel more alone and lonely than ever.
Ashly · 26-30, F
@Jeephikelove it’s sad to think that with all forms social media, forms of travel, we are communicating with each other less and less ☹
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
@Ashly ya. ☹
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
If you’re where I think you are, that’s the nature of this place. And usually the more people around the more alone one is.
Ashly · 26-30, F
@DownTheStreet i live in LA 🌴 and the city is huge, and so is the population
But sometimes i feel alone in this concrete jungle

Such is the world today. We can live with people and feel alone.
Take away, each out to others. They’re feeling lonely too.

Meet those millions and you will hear the same thing from thousands and thousands of them.
Because we aren't cuddling

Because you feel incomplete.

Many people these days are too busy and anti-social, or super cliquey and arrogant. Social media and dating apps have largely replaced meeting someone at a bar or at the library or park. It’s a weird world now full of shut-ins.

Cause people only think of themselves in this new world, you look for connections that no longer exist as your invisible to them as they only see themselves

Hey I'm sorry you feel this way. Sometimes it's hard to have a true connection with people
