A lot of Depressed people have a lack of energy and motivation.

We don’t feel like running errands, we don’t feel like cooking, we don’t feel like cleaning, we don’t feel like hanging out with friends and family, we don’t feel like going shopping, we don’t feel like going to work or school, hell we don’t even feel like showering half the time. Do not confuse this for us being “lazy”. Calling depressed people lazy is demeaning and hurtful. Would you describe someone with a debilitating physical condition as lazy because they can’t do normal tasks? No, chances are you wouldn’t. So why would you describe someone dealing with depression as lazy for the same exact thing? People do not take mental health seriously until it’s too late

{@aquateal] lazy far from it . anyone who says that needs to experience depression to understand how it makes you feel . it mentally zaps you and you feel like why bother
Your final sentence is, sadly, true.

Are you ok?

And of course, we beat ourselves up for it. We internalize what others tell us.

Thank you for this.
