I Have Adhd

I have a few other disorders too and I was diagnosed back when I was like 15. Anyway, skip ahead to now. I'm not very functional and have been trying to figure out why. I've been working with doctors to figure out what my problem is and it looks like ADHD is behind most of my problems. I couldn't believe it. I got diagnosed so long ago and have always accepted that I am the way I am that I just kind of set that diagnosis on the side and well...forgot about it. I forgot I have ADHD.

@Pianist1234 I feel like I maybe should be insulted but too interested in your comment to get offended. Can you explain it to me please???

@Pianist1234 Thank you for your honest answer. I've wondered a few times why is it that in the US we have so much more people diagnosed than people in other countries.

@morrgin I've thought about this too. What is common with everyone that is depressed in America? It's not medicines because we all don't take the same drugs. But...........we all eat food that has things in it that we can't pronounce. More prepared foods than any other country on earth. Most Med countries for instance eat hardly any prepackaged foods---no depression to speak of. Asia---mostly veggies and fish and a natural diet--not much pre-packaged. But here? EVERYTHING has ingredients we can't even spell--never mind say. I think we should be asking ourselves---overtime--how much damage do those things do to us genetically?

@anythingoes477 Exactly what I was thinking just a minute ago. I was going to jokingly say maybe it's in our water. Still, I agree. I think it could easily be something in our everyday lives. Maybe it's a combination of things as well. Maybe some of it is genetic, learned behavior, environmental, or other outside influences.
@morrgin Yes but two out of those three go back to my idea. Genetically and environmental. The fertilizers and pesticides we use to grow our food---is contained IN our food. And genetically--perhaps some of ths food dsamage to our chromosomes took a generation or two to show up. Look at autism. Did you EVER hear of autism 10 years ago?? But now----4 in 10 kids have it.

@Pianist1234 I fully agree with that too. Medication doesn't answer everything and lack of religion or not being connected to something spiritually that is greater than yourself causes all kinds of problems in a person's life. I've also wondered about the lack of religion over generations of time. I think that being connected to a religion or belief system with generation after generation helping to reinforce it keeps people centered and have a purpose. It could go the other way too though.
@morrgin I do agree....morally this nation is in a slide...and it's not uphill. but does that equate to illnesses like autism? Probably not.......though depression may be a totally different story.
ADHD or not--you've got a great head on your shoulders. I don't think I'd worry about myself nearly as much as you may do. Trust me.... I talk to a lot of people and of them---you're the most normal I've talked to for a loooonnng time.

@Pianist1234 Your just ignornat disorders don't have a certain locality and it's probably more common than you think.
