I know exactly the same feeling. The more you want a little more sleep t he less able you are to get it. What I do is tell myself, "I'm not going to sleep, just rest my eyes awhile longer and let myself drift" Next thing I know I'm waking up again from an added hour or so.

@Grateful4you I try to do things like that but I find my brain is racing from the onset 🙄

There are YouTube sites addressing "How to" on a racing brain I just get too distracted trying to attend. I found that Zanaflex, a muscle relaxant calms me without a narcotic effect.
