It’s for reasons I already know

I’ve had major depressive disorder since I was a kid. It’s a hand full of pills twice daily and a conscious effort to not be depressed for no apparent reason.
The operative word is, apparent.
I'm sure I could find a reason.

I used to, then I read something about sugar causing depression in some people. So, I quit eating sugar and it stopped happening.
Jm31xxx · 41-45, M
Yup, but there probably is a reason, I just can't figure it out.

It happens.

Actually the other day I was having a deep conversation with my coworkers and all of them admitted going through really dark times. They seem to have their sh*t together and leading a happy productive life. Some of which brought up serious issues like suicidal thoughts even if they covered it up with humor. I thought to myself, wow, thought I was the only one. Discussing mental health is a bit of a taboo over here.
@SW-User Good to see you again. You were missed here. 😊

I didn't even know it was Depression for the longest time. And I guess there have been many reasons.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
It seems so, but I believe there are reasons.
Could be simply low dopamine or serotonin levels.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
All the time. I have triggers too.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Yes. I hate it.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
All the time - it's normal life basically.

Yes but if I dig deeper usually I can find a reason

I have lots to be depressed about but it will just hit me at times. Sorry you are feeling this way.
cycleman · 61-69, M
Epilepsy is my reason for being defeated. But that is just for 3 or 5 days
plungesponge · 41-45, M
In some ways I'm lucky, I was never short on reasons, and that actually gave me a direction
I suffer from clinical depression. A cause, but not technically a reason.
@bijouxbroussard I never knew that hon. Hope you have it somewhat under control. 🥰

No, I get depressed because of the chemical imbalance in my brain
