I wrote this one a while ago about the site
Who are you
Who are you that I write to here
For I do not merely send these words to cyberspace
Oh, granted, sometimes no one comments or replies
But there is a you
And many times a different you
Someone who happens along and reads and reaches out
Or finds a thread that bears some speaking to
Or maybe a friend here
Who's mind I think I must know well by now
And yet I don't
I know that in my heart
But I do not talk to cyberspace
To nothingness
For, when I write, I need to touch
And be touched in return
It's loneliness that gets us down
Loneliness that follows us into the night
Walks with us through the day
A narrow path into my mind I open just for you, when I write here
When I lay out these parts of me, I open up the armor just a bit
So you can send a message through
Can touch me deep down where I hide
Can let me know you understand the loneliness
The heartbreak that I hold inside
For really what I do all day is haul this injured child around
This child who tried so hard for love
Reached out so many times to be accepted
Then went down deep inside to hide
Wanting to die of heartbreak, but not knowing how
And every time he's touched
The agony of love
Spreads through him like a searing pain
And, yet, so wonderful to feel the touch of life
Of love
Of caring
I write to you
I know your heart
I know your love
I share your pain
Even though I may not ever know your name.
