OK now, when are they going to fix the filters?

Or is this broken setup permanent?

What is the point of following some people on here, and not following others, if I cannot filter the feed based on it?

I am wasting time now skipping over strangers. And also second-guessing ("Is this person in my circle, or not? I cannot recall.")

It is getting really annoying!

Change is OK, if it is good!

But I figured out what to do to get make it better. Select the friends preset and leave it alone.

They had changed one slider setting in this preset so I was sliding it back to how it used to be. I should have just left it alone.

So, it was not just a change to the preset (aka the slider configuration), but a change to the impact of at least one slider itself.
