For you …….

I want to say I love you, but you know I never will.

There’s this current of love and desire and friendship and strength and connection between us.

It is SO good. Unbelievably good.

But for me to be that direct with you now, after all that’s happened between us, good and hard, beautiful and bonded, I can’t say the words.

Maybe I should. I don’t know.

Maybe I shouldn’t. Is that better?

All I know is I do love you. I always will. You are at the heart of me. You make me smile, and I know you feel it, too.

And maybe that’s all we need.

So true, but also reflects the difficult nature of Love.

To love is to be vulnerable to the discoveries love takes us to. Sometimes these discoveries show us why our decision to love was a wonderfully life giving one to us, sometimes it gives us work to do in the relationship.

But to say "I love you," especially in a long term relationship, provides a gateway moment of discussion or affirmation of the relationship. Each way, provides for a chance at a deeper relationship.

I read this when you posted it but didn’t have the chance to write what I was thinking about at that time.

This reminds me of the question:

There are times we ask ourselves: Do we have to say it when they already know ?

I can relate to this. If I you ask me,
I’d choose to say it before I lose the courage…. before we lose the chance to say it to each other. 🤗
