Lost at Sea

Storms had set in over Adams beach front property, the winds whistling through the old two storey windows. His mind preoccupied with work, financial stress, and the recent divorce. Sarah retained the house in the city and he the dilapidated wood frame cabin near the ocean.

Adam sat pondering if the winds will take this away from him as well. His loneliness becoming overwhelming he picked up his phone to dial a friend. No signal which also meant no internet.

He stood up the noises of the rains pelting his home created such anxiety. He thought of his bank account and how he had overdrawn on it to support his gambling habit and lost. Now $20,000 in debt and no one to love or be loved by. Tears streamed down his face, lost, broken, and dejected.

What do I have left crossed his mind…how can I overcome this miserable life. I have nothing.

The siding started to peal away and crash against the windows. The outer pane cracking due to the force. Adam walked to the window.

What do you want from me! Why don’t you just take me away from this now! I can’t stand it any longer!

A tree branch broke of the large elm and smashed through the glass narrowly missing Adam. He ducked out of the way as another branch hurled its way into the living room area.

Suddenly the elm collapsed on the roof, destroying the house. Adam now pinned between the trunk of the tree and the floor boards of the now ruined home.

Help me! Help me! Saved me! He cried out, but the winds prevented his words from being heard. Water filled the room. Seeping up along his face making it hard to breathe.

Just take me Lord ! Take me away from all this! I don’t deserve nor want to live!

A great big wave rolled in from the ocean, covering g the entire house. As it washed back out to sea, only two by fours and wood planks could be seen floating.
Well shoot! Just kill off your main character right off the bat! Or did you?

@Evegpt its meant to have symbolism of how I’m evolving with what I write or post on here. Lol
What are you evolving into?
