I had an epic night !!!!!!!
You know I was kind of sitting here a little depressed from whatever and there came a group of people in our airbnb.. Celebrating the local festival Diwali, it is tradition to come in groups with music and dance outside of your place or in the garden and perform, lifting people up.. and in exchange you give them a little money.. It's the celebration of the goddess of wealth amongst a few more things. Yesterday they celebrated dogs, in a couple of days they will celebrate sister and brotherhood.
So I followed the group and danced and danced and danced... I have never felt so free to dance without alcohol I think my whole life!!!
The fact that I didn't know the dance made it easier.. now the neighbors have invited me for tea tomorrow morning:) I didn't get any pictures really to show you guys but I will try tomorrow to make some connection and maybe get a picture from some women.
In the end only I felt juuuust a tiny bit uncomfortable but that was just a tiny bit.. as in the beginning I was dancing with younger girls and they taught me lots of moves and then I danced with this old lady that she taught me some more moves but in the end I danced a little bit with the guys and I felt just a little bit uncomfortable as intentionally i was making it a point not to dance with them but the old lady was pushy haha 😂 But all good 😊
The whole time I just had a shot of alcohol that they gave me and that was all...💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 Their dance is super fun, it's like a discussion without words.. as all dances I suppose I'm just exploring this.... As in the past I was mostly shy and I couldn't dance unless I had a litre of alcohol .. I am so grateful they hugged me like that and integrated me into their little neighbourhood party.. we were around 15 maybe 20 people. And I am so grateful to myself that I didn't stop me like i was posting in the morning, but I grabbed my chance to get over my shyness...💖
