I Went To One Garage Sale Yesterday Afternoon & Got Some Bargains…

But the best part of the sale was the couple talking about the items I looked at and purchased. The man was about 50 and his mother was British and passed away. . She married an American who was in the military so his family moved around a lot. I bought a pretty tea pot and he said his mother didn’t use it much, mostly she put a kettle on and made tea in a cup. But would use the nice tea pots for company. Also bought a Japanese ceramic cookie jar with a bamboo handle. One of the places his father was stationed at. He kept making good deals to sell stuff. I got a wrought iron floor lamp with a nice shade for $1. Wish I had gotten there when the sale first started.

Do you have daughters? If you do - tell them the stories about the “things” that you hold dearest to your heart. It will help them appreciate them later. Perhaps even give them a Christmas ornament that your mom had given you for example. Before you have said sale - let them see if they might want anything before you sell it. Later they will be thankful that you didn’t keep everything.

@TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart I don’t go to many yard sales like I used to. Need to have a huge sale of my own to clear out the garage. But I do like a bargain on useful items. I like to make tea and have this other tea pot now for a back up in case I make two types of tea or if the other one breaks.
