What Have You Noticed About Supply Line Issues?

I have noticed shortages of certain things especially in certain stores like Dollar Tree. Used to buy cosmetic rounds for eye makeup removal there and they had none this time. And they only had a small basket full of cotton balls. Water filters for my Berkey filter are getting harder to locate. They sell out quickly on the Berkey website and then you have to wait about 4-6 weeks for more to be stocked.

I've had more than one customer walk up to me and ask if we're going out of business...they're like where's all the stuff.

@FloorGenAdm I have read that Walmart is getting ready to lay off some of their employees due to supply line issues since they aren’t going to get the same amount of merchandise from China as they did before, and other retail places will probably do the same.

Here the main shortage is workers

We have Stop and Shop, Dollar Tree, and Market Basket, Walmart, and Aldi's, all within easy driving distance.

Stop and Shop is always out of things. Walmart is spotty. Sometimes they have things, and sometimes their shelves are almost empty.

Market Basket is really well supplied, but they only carry their own brand of tissues, and only one type of ramen soup. I heard that Market Basket uses an entirely different supplier, and you can tell. Unfortunately, their prices are so reasonable BECAUSE they don't have grocery pickup, Instacart, or Door Dash available.

Dollar Tree, locally, just has what they have. I have never gone in there expecting anything I normally use to be there. It's all shipped in from China, so they are not regularly restocked. I was surprised that Market Basket sells tissues for a penny less.

@cherokeepatti I don't think we'll be seeing imported things arrive smoothly and regularly anymore.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou that’s what I am hearing too. I have heard that places like Sams have gotten a lot of merchandise this past couple of weeks but they say when the imported stuff is gone it won’t be replaced. You might find some bargains to stock up on because they don’t have a lot of space to store it right now.

I have a feeling this is the new normal.

I find that our supermarkets are still running out of a multitude of items and it takes a while before they are restocked.

Manufactured electronic components are perpetually back ordered.
No one knows when parts will arrive.
Delays of 6-8 weeks are pretty normal.
But, there's stuff that remained on back order since last year.

Strangling the economy - this has democrat finger prints all over it.

@Budwick was going to replace the hood of my car due to hail damage but the prices were so high it was cheaper to have a man remove the dents last week, paid him a bit more to do it since he was removing dents from the rest of the car too. I think we’ll see more of this type of thing and it’ll profit the repair people.
