How did you find EP/SW?

EP. Going through a rough time looking for people to talk to about it honestly lol

Was grieving the death of someone I was close to and looking for support

Randomly searching something about insomnia

I don't remember exactly how I found EP. I was probably doing google searches about either Christianity or depression and happened upon it that way. I checked out SW when EP shut down, but my laptop broke before I could get established there really. It was years before I got a new one, and at that point I was really lonely and already knew about this hellhole.

I was searching lesbianism one late night and it led me to EP 🥴

I learned about SW from people on EP talking about it when EP was drawing to a close.

As for EP, I stumbled upon an old version of it years ago. Back then, it really was about "experience". All of the groups were of the form "I want to...."

The idea was that people would state a goal that they had, and then describe their progress toward reaching that goal.

The goals were often "experiences": I want to go skydiving, etc.

But, it probably will not come as a surprise that the groups people were creating were overwhelmingly about sexual things, like "I want to try a threesome."

So, I first found EP, when it was in that early incarnation, by accident when I was googling a particular topic. I do not remember the topic, but yes it was a sexual one.

Some time later, I remembered I had been to a site called the Experience Project, and I thought I would go take another look. By then, it had changed to the version most people here remember, and I joined.

I found EP after the site I was using Sodahead shut down, I think in 2013. I needed another site to spew all my thoughts on, so I ended up finding EP when googling forums. And then I found SW in 2016 when I was trying to see if there were any sites similar to EP.

I found EP when searching for information on certain drugs for brain injury.

I was a dumbass speller & was checking I spelled experience correctly when I found it

I was looking for something about “dealing with grief” in 2009 and found EP. I stayed with EP until it closed, and then a friend from EP let me know about SW in 2016.

I found it from another online group.

I found EP through a Google search about suicide.
