As a vegetarian, can you consume animal products?

Like fish oil, chicken stock, etc.
BlueVeins · 22-25
No, but you can consume secretions of animals such as milk and eggs.
Ynotisay · M
Sort of defeats the purpose, right? Pescatarians are follow a vegetarian diet except with seafood and pollotarians allow for fish and chicken.
4meAndyou · F
Vegetarians divided themselves into categories. Some of them are Pescatarians, and they eat fish in addition to normal vegetarian foods, but they are not true Vegetarians.

Chicken stock is not a vegetarian food. A chicken has to die to make it. Some vegetarians eat eggs, but they call themselves Lacto-Ovo Vegetarians, which means they also drink milk.

Your basic rule, if you want to be a true vegetarian, is that if an animal had to die to make it, then you don't eat it.
I know vegetarians who consume dairy, because it’s not necessary to kill the animal. I’m not sure about the other items.

Depends how strict you want to be at it
I see vegans and vegetarians cheat fairly often

You can eat what ever you want. Leave the label to processed foods.
