In order to make a friend you have to be one. In order to build trust you have to show a little. Generally speaking, you get out of relationships what you put into them.

what about family members? have any family members you can open up to or vent to? i know no one your age really wants to talk to their parents but if they are around they would probably be safe and try to be helpful.

Unfortunately, when it comes to friends, it's try and fail. Just like your romantic life. Keep an open mind, don't be scared of people who have different views than you, look for those who can disagree and yet accept your opinion, and most importantly: find someone who will help you back up when you're down.

It's too bad, but right now is your biggest social part of your life as after highschool it's all downhill in terms of social events and interaction.
