What conjures up nostalgia for you? [I Get Nostalgic]

It may sound a bit cliche, but for me, it will always be those Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. The house being decorated appropriately, and the wide array of food dishes made the whole place smell heavenly.

I don't think anything will top that for as long as I live.

Memories from the farm, things I associate with that will do it. If I smell bleached linens it reminds me of hanging clothes out on our clothesline and smelling that fresh bleached smell. The smell of lilacs in the spring, the smell of a steady southern breeze in the spring (a Gulf smell) it would blow clear up into Missouri, sometimes I smell it here in Oklahoma too…sound of hens cackling, have neighbors with backyard chickens and hear them sometimes when they are laying eggs.

@cherokeepatti I think lilacs would do it for me too! We always had lilacs wherever we lived when I was a kid.

@SW-User so sweet and they only last a couple of weeks….I bought lavender oil just because I love that smell so much.

@cherokeepatti Lavendar and violet scents remind me of my grandmother. Lilacs smell like home.

I know what you mean, and I used to feel that way too.

I wish I could still feel the nostalgia. However, I spent too many holidays with the wrong people, and the magic is permanently gone.
Music, or more specifically, a lot of the '70s classic rock. It always brings me back to a simpler, more care free time.

Holidays bring this out the best for me.
