Attendence in the Sacrament of Reconciliation

We have free will! It is what God in His Infinite Wisdom gave us as creatures, each one of us, and in Eden it is what led our foreparents to becoming Fallen, because they listened to a fellow creature, the angel Azarael (himself fallen because of his jealousies and usurpation of God's place).

Free will has been the hinge of human development ever since, the thing which is most persecuted by those who crave power.

In our desire, as followers of the Christ, to use our free will righteously we are not protected from being sinners still and when we give into desires which we should reasonably have control over we are sinners, and in need of reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ.

I go to confession weekly because I am aware of my failures to show love of God and love of my neighbour. My priest's gift on God's behalf through Jesus Christ of absolution is an extremely beneficial thing, to relieve my conscience and so equip me to begin a new week.

Today, my list of my weeks sins included personal failures that my mind can often not deal with when I have hormonal changes in my cycle. I received absolution, and the charge to contend with such things.

Isn't Azarel the name the bad guy from The Smurfs gave his cat? I don't remember the serpent from Genesis having a name.

@NorthernBear The serpent was a puppet of the angel who remained in spirit form
