What does this mean in your opinion ?

I'm slow to processing certain behaviors of others and just trying to understand the nature of others

...my point

When they " accept responsibility "for something that happened but Don't actually apologize for it ....why bother ?
SW-User
I guess all i wanted was a simple apology not an " i accept all responsibility " bullshit ..
I didn't get it but it really doesn't matter anymore ..
Just wanted to see what others perception was ...
reubles · 41-45, M
The non apology, one of the tools in the narcissists bag of tricks.
SW-User
@reubles makes sense since I suspect this person is a narc
Ontheroad · M
I think for some accepting responsibility is their apology... it isn't, not really, but you will know later if they were sincere (if they repeat the offense, they weren't sincere).
SW-User
@Ontheroad yes ,this makes sense ...I don't think it was sincere ...it seemed contrived...so you're most likely right
Magenta · F
Hmm, could be pride. It's hard to be vulnerable like that for some.
SW-User
@Magenta hmm maybe
SW-User
Pride, ego, manipulation, or - they do honestly accept the consequences, but they do not think what they did or said was wrong in any way
SW-User
@SW-User probably all of them
SW-User
@SW-User Time to say bye bye to their dumb self
SW-User
@SW-User already did ...just curious about why people do what they do
Punxi · 26-30, F
Subtle manipulation I'd say.
SW-User
@Punxi makes sense
It's a way to avoid an apology, an attempt to stop you being angry at them. But they aren't sorry and will do it again the second they think you'll let them get away with it again.

exactly if they can accept and take ownership of a mistake of there doing why can they not apologise.🤷‍♂️arrogance on there part who really knows[chernobylplayground]
SW-User
@smiler2012 that sounds about right
SW-User
I suspect they don't have remorse over it they just know what they did but they don't consider it wrong even though you might. At least that has been my experience
SW-User
@SW-User i think you may be right
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Perhaps they fell only partially responsible?
SW-User
@SweetMae could be ...
smiler2012 · 56-60
@SweetMae 🤫see if you are the boss say for example taking responsibility is all nice words but the buck stops at your door and you need to take the whole thing on board and accept the onus
RebelFox · 36-40, F
Also, I’m slow af when it comes to understanding people being jerks
SW-User
@RebelFox yup that too and also I'm too fucking nice to the wrong people sometimes

@MellyMel22 truth
Bryan12 · 41-45, M
When you accept responsabity for something it doesn't necessarily mean that you are sorry for it. Responsibilty is your abilty to respond its a actio what you do
They do not accept the impact their behaviour has had on others.

It is about them and their own little universe
MethDozer · M
It really depends. It could be a lack of any concern for their actions or it cluld ne the fact some people were never taught and never developed the ability to give an honest/true appology.
SW-User
@MethDozer perhaps
MethDozer · M
@SW-User I don't know the person or dynamics in question is all.
SW-User
@MethDozer it's ok ..i appreciate your input all the same ..this person is emotionally inept

@SW-User that’s for the best. You don’t need someone like that.
