It's more that women flirting/dating with women is almost getting more accepted in public situations that women with men, or men with men.

Whereas a man gets labelled a pervert any time he tries to flirt with a woman, any woman can flirt with another woman and nobody will care (except maybe the woman's husband, but if a woman has started flirting with her, his relationship with her is already doomed).

That’s not even touching on trying to figure out if they’re into women first.
