I cannot believe this!

I applied for this new job after my company which I worked for from home just sold out and closed suddenly,
This job that I applied for I was way overqualified for and it was not a job I was excited to do,
Nonthless I applied did everything they asked for and suddenly after many weeks they just say oh your answers to the interview didn't go in depth so we won't take your application further,
I was like sod this I didn't even wanna work there! And they said they didn't want any experience that training will be provided, and then they tell me my answers didn't show relevant experience!!!
I will tell you a secret of how no matter what happens I never experience this. I apply to over 3000 jobs across the entire United States everytime I am looking for one, is how. When you work with numbers like this, rejection letters are actually annoying to receive because you have so many interviews.

How do I manage to submit 3000+ applications? I make maybe 3 resumes max. I then only apply on those websites that have one click to apply applications. If any company asks me for more than a third round of interviews I politely decline.

I can send out about 100 resumes a day like this. Of course I screen what I am applying for though. I dont just click click click. But I dont waste time on long applications.

Most important way that this works though is that you need to expand your job search across the ENTIRE country. I have always had cool jobs because of this. Very few people do this.

I get rejection letters from companies I don't even remember applying to like this. So it doesn't annoy me that they are turning me down, it only annoys me that they DIDN'T just ghost me and leave me alone because I have about 5 companies interested to interview me at any given time during my search.

You see, if there are on average 100 applications for every position, then the only way you can win that lottery is to have 100+ lottery tickets (job applications) sent out.
@GeistInTheMachine There is more that I do in regards to the negotiation process. Basically I just reneg on all offer letters after I accept them as I use each company as leverage for the next until I get a salary that I don't think I can raise any higher.

I am not sure if this is good advice for early career though. When I was early career I just took whatever I could get. But mid career, you can do this.
@GeistInTheMachine Don't feel bad about doing this either. Companies will fire you without any regard to your circumstances, so it only makes sense that you also can decide to change your mind about an agreement with that company if your circumstances change. This is another one of those things very few people do. Most offer letters are not legally binding even after you sign them. So I just use that as my opportunity to get another one citing a higher offer from the previous.

I was fortunate recently. My boss' boss needed to fill a position under him. My boss said I should apply. So I did. In the interview, there was my boss and his boss. My boss had more confidence in my abilities than I did, LOL! He recommended me highly to his boss.

I got the new job. My old boss is retiring the end of the year.

The funny thing is I am still finishing up projects for my old job, but I will slowly transition to new things for my new boss.

The new job pays more and I no longer have to do "production" work (which is highly clerical in nature, and boring). I am now only doing R & D work. For my old job, I was given projects, and had a lot of freedom, but within limits. For my new job, my boss said if I have any ideas on new projects or how to improve things around there, let him know, and maybe that could be my next project. I am not used to that! I have been so trained to have little ambition and just do what I am told. So strange now. Gosh, someday I might be setting policy! Scary. I feel so unqualified to set policy. But I am good at implementing it.

This happens often in the working world. It has happened to me as well. They expect you to be university educated that's why they want in depth answers. It is a game employers play to test how loyal you are. Working for anyone can turn out to be a joke sometimes

@SW-User Even when you are university educated, they treat you like this. Trust me.

@GeistInTheMachine Yes, for sure they do :)

That's the fucking job market now. I have been treated like shit throughout my job search. Sick of all their crap and attitude.
Welcome to the real world.

This job that I applied for I was way overqualified for and it was not a job I was excited to do,

Looks like they figured you out.

@Ryderbike yeah I guess but I did do the training course for weeks before going to next stage
@Collegegirl23 it wouldn’t make you happy to take a job you don’t really want.

Life is very short. Continue to strive to find a position that will bring you satisfaction and meaning to your life.

Consider the fact that you didn’t get the job as may be the best thing that ever happened to you.

Hiring processes are confusing!!
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@Quimliqer By design! They often hire internally and lie anyway.

@GeistInTheMachine You’re right. I’ve applied to companies numerous times and always get the sorry your qualifications didn’t match our needs, yet when I found out a colleague worked there and I went through them suddenly we had interviews and an offer.

@Quimliqer Funny how the world works!
