Coworker earlier: "so what are you gonna be today?"

Me: "just myself. That's what I am every year" 🤷

Him: "nah you can't be yourself, that's just sad"

Me: *fake laughs, transitioning into fake crying*

Idk why but that was the hardest I've laughed all day today 😂😅 besides my homie telling me that he sent a company his medical card (for weed) info instead of his resume 🤣

I’m a big supporter of all laughter, especially at oneself. Even if all you have to laugh about is being sad 😆 if you’re not offended by your own humaneness and emotions, why not joke about that too.

@BrokenAbyss I tend to joke even when the worst is going on 😅 maybe it helps me to just be honest in a joking way

@ChiefJustWalks I think so too. I started laughing when I cry. At first I thought I was losing it, but then I realized I just really miss laughing. I cut jokes at my parents funerals because I believe they would of rather us all laugh than cry. It is honest. It’s cathartic as crying and gives a little joy instead of sadness. Deflates the sadness a bit.

@BrokenAbyss yeah it definitely seems to help in some sort of way. Some people might not understand & assume we're being inconsiderate sometimes but humor is just how we deal with things
