I found my place at 39, after a couple decads in the industry, deciding which application of my skills suited me best. Turns out building bridges is far more profitable then residential buildings, or typical commercial building.

@checkoutanytime Impressive!
Torsten · 36-40, M
I have made many career changes. Just could never find what I would consider fulfilling. I have slowly been taking steps towards my own business type thing and just doing what I enjoy and will slowly be expanding on that till I dont need my other jobs
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP

I have to. It’s difficult.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@ProfessorPlum77 it’s hard when all one’s experience in the last 5 years has nothing to do with the field I’m trying to get back into. Biggest obstacle rn is my resume. I can do the work they need I just have a terrible work experience record. And I can’t change what I’ve done.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@DDonde Maybe someone will give you a break!
DDonde · 31-35, M
@ProfessorPlum77 I'm hoping so, thank you!

not mid life. late twenties my depression had totally consumed me. i was drinking to be numb, dangerously suicidal and totally despondent. some reason i was aware what was happening to me. i quit my corporate job, quicky (expensive) divorce from a woman who didn't love me, and retrained as a millwright. it took 8 years to get back on my feet but my business started making money and was finally healthy and happy.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@tenente Wow! What tenacity and resolve! Good for you!!!
