Life Updates

It's been a while since I've been active on SW. I don't really know the best way to do updates to posts I've done in the past. Should I put a comment on those posts? Or just create a new post like this one? Would love your advice from those of you who get the nuances of how SW works.

Anyway, I thought I was recovering from Covid. I put in a week of work. And then I got slammed again. I had to take off Wednesday and today again on Friday. I was not expecting just how much Omicron lingers. I got my vaccine shots. But I never bothered to get my booster, and I'm really regretting it.

I also posted that I would really like to start a band. And you all were super supportive. I appreciate everyone's responses so much. The posted on Facebook and have a couple leads from friends.

I'm going to audition with a very cool progressive rock/indie band. That would be like the 7th or 8th member, and I'm not sure how excited I am about being in a band that big.

And then there is a non-binary person another friend hooked me up with. About eight of my coolest friends are mutual friends with them. They play bass guitar, and trumpet, and sing. They're pretty busy for the next few weeks, which is fine with me since I'm still recovering from being sick. But I'm really hopeful something works out with them. They seem like they're my people even if we weren't looking to form a band. Fingers crossed.

I'm also really falling in love with SW again. It's taking a while to get back into the flow. But I'm really grateful for the conversations I've had with some of you. Many of you have gone out of your way to make sure I feel really welcome, and I really appreciate that.

And a few people have blocked me. Because apparently civil conversations can't include any form of disagreement. I know those of you that have been here for a while understand that that's just part of how this place works. But ugh. So frustrating. Haters gonna hate.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who's coming on this ride with me. I'm grateful to be able to have you all in my life.

One of my sister's friends from high school just learned I have Covid. She and her kids left a care package at my door with soup, and snacks, tissues, and three packages of Halls. I just about cried. Wow, I am so grateful. Even when life is hard, life is good.
