I would do anything for my small human

Sometimes people say I am ambitious and I laugh in my head, “Not at effing all..😆 ” I always have a lot of plates spinning, because there’s a lot to do, but I am not in A Type personality at all lol i’ve been running around for days getting things done, feeling increasingly frazzled, and even though I got sleep I am effing zapped dry today… yet still getting sh!t done in a groggy way 😅

Some days I really miss my laid-back slacker life were the only goal was to be a good person and experience new stuff,
but then I made a small human and.. my intense desire to provide them a better life is.. compelling. There are hardships I’m comfortable putting myself through, but not them.. SO..

here we are, moving heaven and earth. Yesterday was their 11th birthday. They are on cloud nine, still effervescent, hopeful for the future, not sheltered from all sorrows, but not lugging traumas, each year doing a little bit better than the last, even with Covid. Whatever I thought was working hard before is nothing compared to how I’ve hustled these last 2 years to make sure they can still thrive in a world that often feels on fire.

I am effing exhausted, but they are worth it.
They are worth everything.

Awesome share! I love my two, but they are 17 and 21. They have outgrown abiding by whatever dad says and have their own lives. I miss it when they were more dependent. Cherish this time, as I’m sure you will.

Not gunna lie.. because of my own stuff the dependence is one of the hardest parts, but I figure putting an end to generational trauma starts with me, so The things that are hard tend to be where I put the most of my efforts into @Canuckle

@WhateverWorks one does there best at parenting. It’s all that can be asked by our children. Eventually they have to fly away and learn how to be independent. I have always tried to instil love, kindness, and acceptance. They have also taught me love, kindness and acceptance. Our children are not there to live out our expectations, but to learn their own internal expectations for themselves. Children are a gift.
Aww. How precious. 🖤
@WhateverWorks I’m also a hot mess. I’m kind of a 4am dumpster fire. lol
