Finally figured out what is wrong with my cat

So for the past year one of my cats has had this reoccurring eye problem where it gets inflamed and swollen and goopy. We have taken him to vet after vet, cat eye specialists, and nothing. We have been prescribed so many different medications trying different things and nothing worked. Today I took him to one vet my mom swore by so I decided to check it out. Turns out he has herpes and a dust allergy lol. But the vet told most cats actually have herpes it just remains dormaint and something triggers a flare up and for him his allergies trigger his flare up. She gave me remedies to try to minimize a flare up so I did it when I came home and my cats eye hasn’t looked this good since novemeber 2020 :)
