I like the here and now, I have learned to use technology wisely instead of becoming a slave to it .

I’m glad I was a teenager before the internet. We were our own entertainment back then, and it was all about hanging out, driving our cars around, going to concerts, etc, but whatever it was, we got out of the house and did things.

@SW-User There was Internet in the 80s, I used it.
SW-User
Technically, it was around in the 60’s, but it wasn’t commercially prolific until the 90’s. I know there were some basic BBS’s, but it wasn’t really on the radar of the vast majority of teenagers until the mid-90’s. If you were using it in the 80’s, you were definitely on the cutting edge at that time. @SW-User

@SW-User yeah, I was teaching myself skills independently of school that I would use later, and the early Internet was essential to the more advanced part of that. I'm glad I was there before it went commercial, it seems like this cozy little Garden of Eden in retrospect even though people acted exactly the same way on it as they do now.

Life is stressful regardless of when. The digital age is great except fo life has become less personal.
SW-User
Agreed. I don’t remember it being less stressful before the internet. It was just less introverted. @hertoy

Being a teen in the 70's was awesome, I sometimes feel sad for today's generation. The invention of cell phones and the internet is a huge boost. Not all of us are addicted to them we see the value in being able to connect with others easier.

if it was for music only then yes. 😊

@SW-User Nice... I couldn't believe how good they were live.. absolutely spectacular. I forget the singer's name damnit but he was so good.

Ian Gillan is the current singer and was the singer in the “Mark II” era, which was the lineup that had the iconic hits for them. Gillan had a couple of solo bands in the late 70’s that were great and definitely worth checking out if you can find any of their old records. @SW-User

A lot of us were kids in the 70s and 80s with less responsibility. I think that has a lot to do with with looking at the past with rose colored glasses. I like the here and now.

I think life was less stressful back then. There are many benefits to "living in the digital age," but not without great cost, in time, money, and stress.
[c=#359E00]by the way.. talk about stressful life, i've write something about this[/c]

I grew up in the mid 70's / 80's ...I think kids are certainly missing out on getting outside more and being more active...i would ride my bike all over the neighborhood,go to the playground, I wouldn't be home until the street lights came on ...times are different and scarier

I love both but I see less children playing in the streets.
Back in my days, it was fun playing physical games and not just glued on gadgets.
