For years, the only thing they had to run on was blaming Republicans for what was essentially a confession of their own misdeeds.

Their politics of personal destruction, which had worked very well for decades, was destroyed when they tried to bury Trump with it. Even Democrat presidents were openly involved, and still it failed because Trump can't be bought or intimidated.

Their base would flock to wealth redistribution.
