Always thought it was sorta a goofy term bc black people and indigenous people [i]are[/i] POCs. It's also pretty inoffensive though, and I don't see how a new term constitutes a reimagining of an entire movement.

It's just a thing humans do. We come up with euphemisms for terms that were formerly acceptable, and then we come up with terms that are euphemisms for the euphemisms. For the same reason, secretaries became known as administrative assistants, and the shitter is now known as the restroom.
