Have You Heard Of This Type Of Scam?

People here have been reporting a woman who drives a black sedan that is over on the side of the road with her daughter…when anyone stops to ask if they can help she tells them she ran out of gas & has no money. She has scammed several this way with this ploy. Probably gets more money for gas than if she used any other reason.

Well there is this *woman* here who claims to be homeless and to have a brain tumor and ask ppl for money.... and they give... and then he buys his kids toys and his wife good meals

I have encountered several variants of the "out of gas" scam over the years.

Once, I offered to drive the guy to a gas station, and his eyes went wide, and he walked away!

Quite a few years ago now, I heard about a scam where thugs would leave a realistic baby doll in a baby carrier in the dead middle of the road and when the person driving would hit the breaks and get out of the car to see what the heck was going on, they would get robbed

I don’t know about in person scams but text scams I’m not to shabby on. If you ever get a text saying they’ll pay $500 a month to put decals for a major company like Pepsi or coke they’ll scam you out of money you don’t have money in the bank account for.

@DrWatson No, I never had one. Best little car I've ever had. Maintenance costs, but almost NO repairs...still...the extended warranty people keep calling me to tell me that my extended warranty has expired...🤣🤣🤣

Not heard that one but I used a ploy to get gas when the lines were long. I'd coast into a gas station and try push my car to the pump and say I ran out of gas they would push me to the pump I'd fill up thank them and go. I never ask for money I did it not to wait in that long line
