"The law enforcement agency said in a statement posted on X that the man was in the area of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue when he “pulled a weapon from his bag” shortly after 6 p.m. EDT and began firing. Secret Service officers returned fire and hit the suspect, who died at a hospital, the agency said.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best, said a law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation.
According to District of Columbia court records, Best was arrested in July 2025 after he attempted to enter a different White House checkpoint without authorization, didn’t heed officers’ commands to stop, “claimed he was Jesus Christ” and said he wanted to be arrested.
An initial hearing was held and a “Pretrial Stay Away Order” was issued, typically a measure ordering a defendant not to go near a person or area before a trial. A bench warrant was issued in August after a notice of “noncompliance” against Best, who did appear for a subsequent hearing."

@4meAndyou Last I heard he died. And there was also a bystander that got injured. I have to wonder if he had been in a MK-Ultra program as a child.

@Virgo79 It’s getting old how many crimes that a person can commit from a very young age and they aren’t locked up or they just keep getting a worse. A 17-year old girl went into two different Walmart stores last week in Edmond, Oklahoma (near Oklahoma City) and set a circle rack of clothing on fire in each store. The stores had to be closed for more than a day to deal with the damage and clean up the smoke damages. . She had also tried it at a nearby Sam’s Club but was chased out by security before the Walmart fires. The news had a clip of a police officer who came to the girl’s home. He was talking to the mother and the mother said she had seen the news on TV and had a feeling that her daughter was involved because he had a very long rap sheet. Then the girl came down the stairs and got taken into custody. Why hasn’t she been dealt with seriously before this?
And a juvenile in the local juvenile shelter attacked one of the shelter guards, stabbed her in the stomach and arm, sprayed her with a fire extinguisher and disabled some security equipment. He also had a very long rap sheet and had been caught doing crimes in another county and had attacked an officer in the juvenile shelter as well. They were wanting this teen offender to be tried as an adult due to the threat of danger he is to people around him.
The judges tend to not get all that serious even though criminals have a long rap sheet until it makes the news big time.
