Advice needed: how to get your music / art noticed on the internet!

A person who is close to me is a wonderful singer and has recorded some music but has no idea how to get it out into the world. They are too shy to go looking for performance opportunities. They also really don't care about making any money from this, but they would like people to hear their songs. Do any of you SWeeps know anything about reaching an audience on line?

Asking also for friends who are into storytelling. Similar situation -- not expecting profit, just looking for online listeners.

@ThePatientAnarchist Yes. They're a music promotion company that can place songs on any platform. They also offer more personal service than you will get with DistroKid or other services.

The problem isn't posting music, it's promotion. Unless you understand the algorithm Spotify and other services use, and are able to exploit it, you're not going to get your music in front of enough people to matter unless you're lucky enough to go viral.
