I don't use nouns and verbs directly interchangeably. They usually look or sound, clumsy and lazy
My journeys to and from work were my [i]commuting[/i], not "commute".
I am about to [i]go shopping[/i], not "get my weekly / daily shop".
The houses springing up everywhere are "new build[i]ings[/i]" or are "newly-built"...
... etc.
Let alone do I use horrors like "targetting" (invented by an American general in the first Gulf War, I think).
