I know how to reduce the federal deficit - Make off-shore tax havens for corporations and the wealthy illegal, forcing them to pay their fair share of taxes like the rest of us.
Doing that would recover hundreds of billions to pay down the deficit and provide revenue for essential domestic spending. Also we should cap military spending at not more than 1% of the GDP, unless Congress passes a declaration of war.
