Renting from a private landlord. What are some things I should ask? Also, given that I don't plan to move in until a month from now, what should I expect to do to hold the apartment down?
I'd expect to have to pay full rent from the day you take it, even if you're not moving in for a month. Otherwise he'll just rent it to someone else. He's a landlord, not a charity.
