Buying New Fridge?

Where is the best place to look or buy a new fridge?

Just seeing where others suggest to look or what different options are. Thanks.

Look for the ones out ready to go, usually they’re last minute cancelled orders or from not fitting in people’s homes. They usually offer them way lower than one in a box and they’re still not used.

I got mine from Home Depot. They have great sales. Normally around Labor Day weekend they do 40% off all appliances.

Place that will service what they sell. Definitely stay away from a few brands

@TexChik I have a 1958 Frigidaire in the basement. It still works like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I don't use it because of the frost build up in the freezer and the amount of electricity it uses but when I plug it in it gets cold.

Depends on where you live. Lowe’s and Home Depot can be good if you find something on sale. They have good delivery and will take the old one.

Check local appliance stores and ask about deals.

Often times, it depends on what you need.

Fancy refrigerator haver

Depends on what you want. I go to Lowe’s and buy the cheapest thing possible because I don’t care about the fancy extras, but others like ice and water dispensers etc

@Powderflask yeah but I was looking for black (they should have black!) And all they had was stainless steel.

I got my fridge at Home Depot (it's a GE Profile). They service what they sell, and they referred me to GE for replacement water filters.

Most factories make about 8 brands on one assembly line. The Whirlpool plant in Ft. SMITH did that. Now closed.

Avoid LG. When they fail, it's a pain in the ass to get parts and get fixed.

@SW-User I get it! As far as TVs the guy said Samsung was best if you need repairs b/c the parts are cheap and easy to get, but honestly after the way my Samsung was made- I’d rather buy another brand and if I have to another cheaper one. What I paid for the repair I could’ve bought a cheap one the same size. Then the same issue happened and it later came out it was Samsung’s fault and I missed out on the refund for repairs b/c they didn’t like the repair receipt I had was hand written on a business printed receipt pad. It was a real receipt pad, but they told me I needed a computerized one and I was livid. This was long ago when LCD’s were kinda new. I paid close to 3,000 for a tv I had to repair 2xs. Luckily the second I googled how to do it and instructed someone b/c I didn’t wanna attempt the soldering part 🤣

@MellyMel22 My Samsung TV lasted a few years, then the LED reflectors starting failing and dropping. There are now 8 white brite spots on my TV. It reminds me of that game "Connect Four" when they drop.

@SW-User That’s too funny, but I’d be mad. My Samsung needed stronger capacitors and Samsung was well aware.
