So I'm watching an American football game, and I hear the announcer say...

"The NFL playoffs are truly the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

I took that as an open invitation to write new lyrics to the Christmas song, which now apparently should apply to football:

It's the most wonderful time of the year.
They'll be hitting and holding,
And tack'ling and folding
While we drink our beer!
