@JimboSaturn I’m aware. They don’t normally recommend it until an age older than what I am. You also can still get Shingles even with the vaccine.

I had chicken pox but my wife didn't. Whan my kids got them we had to send the kids to stay with a relative for two weeks because she had other health and the doctor said it would be really bad for her.

@HannahSky Yes. I probably will because I could get Shingles again. They don’t normally recommend it until a bit older. But, I guess I’m old enough…

Erhhhhh.....I've just read that the CP vaccination reduces to about 85% effective after 4 years......so...longer timespan? It reduces the chances of getting shingles but not entirely....

Yes, although just like now, some people refused to be vaccinated back then. Others even had “parties” where they let their kids gather and infect each other. That’s how my cousin was infected, and then I caught it when we were both visiting our grandmother. There’s a shingles vaccine now, too.

@bijouxbroussard I didn’t go to a party to get Chicken Pox. We called it school. Lol. Everyone got it … yes. There is a vaccine for shingles, but they usually recommend it at an older age.

I was just thinking the other day my son never got Chicken Pox. Pretty much everyone I grew up with had it, myself included. You are right there's a whole generation now that will never experience it which is good. Mine was awful I was 12 or 13 and it was hell

@Dewkissedrose hope it heals for you pretty fast. Wish they let us take the shingles vaccine sooner. Friend of mine's husband got shingles real bad he got it all over his head it was so bad for him. I don't want that
