Maybe one reason for overhyping this pandemic...

... is they are trying to discourage the hypochondriacs from going to the doctor for every little thing? Or would it have the opposite effect?

And about the overburdened health care system - haven't they been saying that since like 1921? If doctors cannot handle the stress of a job that pays six figures, couldn't they just find a career elsewhere? They may not get to take a vacation every other week but hey, at least they won't be overworked 52 weeks a year.

[@1073121,Leggs] personally I think that its the governments way of seizing control over the population and seeing how long people will continue to believe them and do what they say. Its a power trip thing.

[@3220,Highonheels] That is one explanation but at this point, does anyone even care or think about covid-19?

Even commercials have gone mostly back to the old health scares like diabetes, ulcerative collitis, mesothelioma, whatever.

[@1073121,Leggs] I think they are gonna stretch this out as far as they can go with it , as long as people continue to do as they say , plus the cdc only sets these guidelines not actually rules and the police can't enforce them because their not made as laws so its actually up to each individual whether to follow the cdc set "guidelines" or to decide on their own what they should do to protect themselves , I really only wear the mask and follow the social distance guidelines as a common courtesy to my fellow man/women , I don't truly believe it as a absolute necessity but their are those that do so I do it for those that feel it necessary.
