Just bit the heads off some kids on Reddit over something that made me feel ancient

I'd heard about this, but didn't realize it was as widespread as it is. I was in a post about something completely unrelated, and someone said something about a thing I remember from the 90s. But they said it happened in the late 1900s, and the next person replied as though they hadn't said anything weird. When I stepped in and asked them to please not call the 1990s the late 1900s, I was told it was chronologically accurate. I ended up arguing way too passionately over it, having to delete or edit replies before the mods got to them, but the general gist of it was, they didn't understand why calling it the 1900s is confusing to those of us who lived through the 1980s and '90s. And this one kid said, "But it was so long ago that it doesn't matter."

Screw you, kid. We'll see how you like it four or five decades down the road when some little barely pubescent smartаss treats you like you're going to break a hip because you remember the Obama presidency.
